Fortnite Changes Creative Economy

Fortnite Chapter 3: Season 2 took players by surprise by kicking off with no building in core battle royale modes. In addition, the new season introduced new mythic weapons, switched up the exotic weapon pool, made map changes and much more. Although the battle royale receives huge updates with every season, one game mode that maintains relatively untouched is Creative. However, it appears that big changes could be on the horizon for fans of Fortnite’s Creative economy

Creative was added to Fortnite way back in 2018, and it opened up players to new possibilities ever since. You can make your own private island to play with your friends, or you can become a creator and come up with your own game modes to share with the Fortnite player base. Also, you can access weapons that are currently in the vault. Now, your options could be expanded following an update that has been teased by the Epic Games founder and CEO, Tim Sweeney.

A change is hinted at for Fortnite’s Creative economy as we know it

In a discussion on Twitter, Sweeney revealed that Epic Games has already been working on the creator economy for Fortnite with versions two and three. As a result, we are told to expect big changes to this throughout the year.

With versions two and three already in the works, who knows what the future of Fortnite creative will look like once changes are made. Sweeney’s comments could probably apply to Fortnite‘s Support-a-Creator program. This allows creatives to get paid if fans use their creator code when making purchases in the in-game store. Currently, this stands at 5% of the value of purchases that are made using the creator code. Included is earned and purchased V-Bucks and most real-money offers. Without confirmation from Epic Games, it is unknown what changes could be planned for the Creative landscape in Fortnite, but we will be on the look out for a future announcement.
