Far Cry 6 Boom Boom amigo guide: How to get Boomer, a returning companion

Acquiring Boom Boom in Far Cry 6

To get Boom Boom as an amigo in Far Cry 6, you’ll need to head to Valle de Oro. Complete a few operations/main missions until you meet Maximas Matanzas. Continue following the story arc in the region until you get a quest called “Balance the Books.” This has you meeting a fella by the name of Bembe in Villa Judia Hotel. In this area, you’ll find a note that starts the “Boom or Bust” sidequest.

Once you have it tracked, the objective marker for the town of Feroza will appear on the world map. This is where we’ll find Boom Boom.

If you listen to Juan Cortez’s instructions, you’ll know that he wants you to search the light blue shipping containers for anything that might be useful to Libertad. What we want to go for is the shipping container at the southwest corner of the town inside the trainyard.

Once you get close, you’ll hear a dog barking. Shoot the lock and a returning pal will come out. Boom Boom will now be a permanent amigo companion in Far Cry 6.

Boom Boom’s abilities

  • Default ability: Fetch, Boy – Retrieves resources from dead enemies’ bodies.
  • Perk 1: Pointer – Marks the locations of soldiers and animals; unlocked by having Boom Boom collect resources from 10 dead bodies.
  • Perk 2: Expert Tracker – Tag targets from further away; unlocked by having Boom Boom tag 24 animals.
  • Perk 3: Thick Coat – Boom Boom becomes more resistant to damage; unlocked by having Boom Boom tag 50 enemies.

Sadly, Boom Boom doesn’t offer much in terms of combat. He’s a decent scout, but you could also track enemies with ease. Worse, he presents a larger target than Chorizo, which means he’ll get hit more often once soldiers are alerted.
